The YSCP’s current school building was built in 2007 and has had two expansions. The  building is comprised of 25 classrooms for grades kindergarten to eighth grades. Other areas include a library, computer  labs, offices and a large multi-purpose room used for physical education and lunch.

The school grounds include a playground and soccer field, along with a large wetlands area that is often  explored by students and teachers as part of the science curriculum. Future plans for the wetlands  include adding rain barrels, bird houses and benches.

One of the things what makes YSCP unique is how we appreciate different cultures and diversity. We have staff & students coming from over 40 different countries.  Our international families often come to live in our community as the result of their involvement with Pennsylvania State University, either as employees, professors, or students.  As one of the largest universities in the United States, Penn State has a comprehensive international presence and offers many opportunities for international exchange and studies in a global economy.YSCP also works closely with non-native English speaking students to help them integrate into our language and culture through our English as a Second Language (ESL) programs.
