The YSCP’s current school building was built in 2007 and has had two expansions. Located on nine acres, the school is at 1530 Westerly Parkway, State College, Pa., at the corner of Blue Course Rd. The building is comprised of 25 classrooms for grades kindergarten to eighth grades. The middle school, grades 6-8, is on the second floor with a dedicated science lab. Other areas include a library, computer labs, offices and a large multi-purpose room used for physical education and lunch.
The school grounds include a playground and soccer field, along with a large wetlands area that is often explored by students and teachers as part of the science curriculum. Future plans for the wetlands include adding rain barrels, bird houses and benches.
